On Sunday, Sept 13th the annual Running of the Weenies Dachshund race takes place in the Horse Show Arena hosted by the Germantown Animal Shelter. This event featuring more than 100 dachshunds never fails to entertain and surprise and has become a well-known tradition and fund raiser for the Germantown Animal Shelter and other local charities. |

The Festival hosts nearly 400 local and regional artists and craftsmen, offering a wide range of items including fun and trendy items such as purses, fabrics and garden accessories to unique items such as jewelry, woodwork, painting and pottery. |

The children’s activities and games are a favorite for families. The Festival has many art activities and amusements for kids and the attractions include bungee jumps, inflatable moonwalks and slides as well as a selection of kiddy, pony and train rides. |

All types of entertainment is scheduled for both days of the Festival. When you are ready to take a break, grab something to eat and sit around the stage and see some local favorites such as Memphis Area Bluegrass Association or the Navy Band Mid South and Germantown Chorus performances. |

New and Classic cars will be on exhibit at the Germantown Festival from local dealerships and car clubs. |
|
The Best Dressed Hot Dog Contest will be held on Sunday, Sept 13th prior to the Running of the Weenies. This event brings out the creativity of the owners and the costumes delight the crowd as the Weenies sporting butterfly wings, princess dresses and battle ship masts, parade their costumes for spectators and judges. This event is sponsored by the Germantown Animal Shelter. |
